Mushroom Doodhi Masala

Well thanx for guessing and u all did guess it right... its mushroom .
This is one of my own recipes. i was thinking i will make mushroom for lunch and then while checking the fridge i can across a smallpiece of doodhi... which was in the fridge from a week or so now....so as to not to waste it.. i came up with this mushroom and doodhi dish.... the doodhi really enhances the taste of it.. iam glad i saw it in the fridge.
It not only looks yummy but tastes yummier...added with the rich flavour of ginger and garlic...... enjoy it and do leave me ur comments..
You will need:
Sliced mushroom (any variety) -1 packet(200gms)
Doodhi / bottle gourd - 1/2 pound
Roma tomato - 1 medium
Garlic - 3 pods
Ginger - 2 " piece
green chillies - 3 or 4
jeera (cumin seeds) - 2 tsp
oil
salt to taste
Red chillie powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Method :
Wash and keep the mushrooms aside. Finely chop the ginger, garlic and green chillies. Also dice the tomatoes.
Now, in a pan..... take some oil and put the jeera seeds into it.....let it splutter well and a nice aroma will arose. Now add the chooped garlic, ginger and green chillies.... sautee it well...add the tomatos and cook till tender.. (u may also add onions to it ).. now add the turmeric powder and garam masala and cook till the raw smell leaves....
Mix the doodhi and mushroom into this.....add salt and sautee a bit..... Add 1 glass of water and cook covered for 10 mins.... till the mushroom and doodhi cooks well.. and the water dries out leaving a kind od thick gravy behind.....garnish with fresh coriander....
Yout mushroom doodhi masala is ready to be served hot with chapati, roti or phulka.
