Jhatapat pulav!!

Malabar Spices...: Summer Express Cooking Event

This is also my entry to the "Summer Express Cooking Event "

Jahtpat pulav is a very colourful recipe and is made in a jiffy. it the recipe for all those lazy days when u dont wanna spend all ur time sitting in the kitchen and cooking ur dinner.

This is a quick pulav recipe. It just took me 20 mins to finish of with this dish....including the time for the rice to cook. It tastes so good and u dont actually need any side with it... we had it just with plain curd and some pickle....Less efforts and more taste...easy to make and my husbad loves it.This was our dinner yesterday night..

Ingredients:

Raw rice - 2 cups
Carrot - 1
french beans - 10-12
potato -1
Biryani/ pulav masala - 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
peper powder-1/2 tsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method:

Cut all the vegetables lengthwise. In a kadhai take some ghee the jeera to it.. let it splutter. Then add all these vegetables and let the vegetable fry a bit. Now add the pulav masala to it and mix it well..sprinkle some water to it and cook it covered for 5 minutes in medium flame. After the vegetables are sauteed well, add the raw rice to it and mix well. leave it covered for 2 mins.

Now, transfer the vegetables and the rice to the rice cooker or pressure cooker and add around 4 and half cup water and let it cook. Add salt and mix it well before cooking. Once ur rice is ready top it with a spoon full of ghee and fesh coriander leaves... your pulav is ready

Serve it hot with, curd raita , pickle and chips.
